I couldn’t have picked a better morning to wear my new snakeskin print bikini in a tan-enhancing palette of sun-blush orange and white. It was looking pretty cloudy as we walked up the beach to this beautiful sandbar to try and catch the morning light. But as we got closer, the sky started to light up in the most beautiful soft pastel pink and orange hues.

We visited this super photogenic sandbar every morning just before sunrise while staying on this island. Every morning, the sky lit up in a completely different array of colours and intensities. I’ve seen some beautiful island sunrises in my time, but the ones we experienced on Bawah Island were some of the best. This sandbar was such a magical experience, I’m actually considering it as a location for my upcoming destination wedding.
After this dreamy sunrise, I threw a dress on over my snakeskin print bikini and headed to breakfast. Breakfast on Bawah Island takes place each morning in a beautiful restaurant in the treetops overlooking the ocean. We feasted on delicious à la carte dishes made from fresh local produce – it was the perfect morning to have on repeat.
