It’s that time of year again. Fashion bloggers are out snapping the latest street styles, magazine editors are upstaging the carefully styled catwalk looks and models you usually only see in magazines walk the streets of Sydney like regular folk. That’s right, it’s fashion week baby.
Returning to its original sponsor, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) kicks off today in Sydney and we’re excited to announce that once again This Island Life will be there to cover the event. The shows will take place at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay between 30 April – 4 May, with an array of designers showcasing their collections off-site. Despite favourites Josh Goot and Dion Lee pulling out at the last minute, we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of our local designers have in store for us. The international draw card this year is Whitney Port who is in town to present her two signature fashion lines WE by Whitney Eve and Whitney Eve.
When it comes to fashion bloggers, no expense has been spared. This year, MBFWA are flying in some of the biggest names in the business. Bryan Boy, Rumi Neely, Suzie Bubble, Elin Kling, Tommy Ton, Street Pepper, Yvan Rodic and our personal favourite The Man Repeller (aka Leandra Medine) are all set to make front row appearances.
So to find out what you’ll be wearing next summer, follow us on your preferred social site for all your MBFWA fabulousness.
