For the last two years, Cape Panwa Hotel in Thailand has hosted Phuket Race Week and this year we were lucky to be invited along for the event. We arrived on the island just in time to catch the last race and the all-important closing party festivities. Over four days, 37 yachts took part in Asia’s premier yacht race for the events 10th Anniversary. We watched the action from one of the resorts incredible yachts – I don’t want to brag, but it had its own god damn spa built into the deck!
With race week in full swing, the resort was at full capacity but it never felt over crowded. That’s the thing about Cape Panwa Hotel – the rooms and suites are all really spread out, so it feels more like a tropical community than a resort. For keen sailors and those who like to watch from spas on spectator yachts, Phuket Race Week will be on again next year from the 16th – 20th of July 2014.
