The island of Bali in Indonesia is famous for many things, and one of them is its incredible sunrises and sunsets. I’ve been to Bali four times now and one of the highlights from my last trip was celebrating my birthday at the top of Mount Batur as the sun lit up the island. But you don’t need to climb a volcano at 4:30am to see amazing Balinese sunrises. Take a look at my top four places to watch the sunrise and for those who like to stay in bed for as long as possible, we’ve got you. Number two on the list is right out the front of Prama Sanua Beach Bali hotel and involves rolling out of bed and walking 50 metres down to the beach.
1. Mount Batur – Bali, Indonesia

2. Sanur Beach – Bali, Indonesia
If you love to start your day watching the sunrise, you’re going to want to book a few nights at Prama Sanua Beach Bali. This beautiful view was only 50 metres from my room.
3. Kusamba Beach – Bali, Indonesia
There’s something special about walking along the black sand beach of Kusamba, watching the daily village rituals come to life. At sunrise the locals harvest sea salt from the Indian Ocean – it’s a truly mesmerising sight. Read more.

Keramas puts on an amazing sunrise and even more so when the pro surfers are in town. Head down when the comps are on and at first light you’ll see the likes of Mick Fanning, Kelly Slater and John John Florence warming up. Read more.
