I’ve done so much travel to South East Asia over the past few years, but this was my first trip to Vietnam. It was also my first trip with Topdeck Travel where I had basically scored the best job in the world – presenting a web series across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand with the most epic crew imaginable.
Hanoi was our first destination and was only meant to be one episode, but there were so many adventures to be had that it turned into two. While it’s the capital of Vietnam and the country’s second biggest city, everything runs at a really chilled out pace. If you’ve never been to a bustling South East Asian city and you’re looking for a place to start, Hanoi is your destination.
There’s delicious street food and local restaurants to discover, cultural sights and experiences like The Temple of Literature that’s the home of Confucius, and activities like taking a cyclo tour through the Old Quarter. Being on a cyclo with a local Vietnamese man peddling behind you might sound pretty touristy, but when you’re on one with your mates around you, it’s one of the best ways to take in the city.
So sit back, watch the episodes, peruse my photo diary and get inspired to visit the city of Hanoi for yourself. To find out more about Topdeck trips in Asia or to book, visit topdeck.travel
