There’s no place like home (in summer)

I grew up in Sydney and sometimes think I’ve become a bit accustomed to its beauty. I once drove 12-hours through the Atacama Desert in Chile up towards the Peruvian boarder in search of the country’s best beach. Yeah it was nice, but it wasn’t half as good as the beaches I’m surrounded by back at home.

I love travelling overseas, but I started This Island Life to give a snapshot into what life is like in Australia – the biggest island on the planet. While I’m incredibly grateful for all of the opportunities I get to travel overseas, this week I was reminded of just how amazing it is here in Australia, especially during the summer. As part of a collaboration with my hair blogging buddy Christina from Hair Romance (coming soon), we spent a perfect summer morning running around Bondi Beach shooting hair and bikinis.

Sydney really is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I’m lucky enough to call Bondi my home. So in light of this, one of my new years resolutions is to bring you more stories from my home island.

Where do you live? Do you ever take it for granted?
