After designing Ksubi shades for five years, eyewear designer Samantha Stevensen has gone out on her own with her new label Pared. Stevensen’s first collection is one of the strongest sunglass collections I’ve seen in a while. It’s pretty rare that I want every style from one brand, but after trying a heap of Pared sunnies on for this shoot, I had to narrow it down. The philosophy behind the label is that everything works better in a pair, so I bought myself Salt and Pepper in black with the gold mirror lenses and Bread and Butter in dark tort.
What I love most about these sunnies is that they’re not just for show. Yeah they look hot, but the handmade acetate is also incredibly light and sturdy. The lenses are scratch and shatter proof and make the world look even more amazing than it is. Plus, most of the collection is unisex and they’re all only $220 a pop.
What do you think of Pared? What shades do you have on high rotation?
