Exploring the steamy city of Bangkok

Sponsored by Topdeck Travel.

Having been to Bangkok seven times before, I thought I’d see it all. But this time around I was travelling with the Topdeck crew and they had a few surprises in the itinerary. I’m obsessed with markets, but it turns out there was a famous one in Bangkok that I hadn’t yet visited.

The Maeklong Railway Markets is a market on the outskirts on Bangkok that’s set up on a railway line and has a train running down the middle of it multiple times a day. When they hear the train coming, everyone hustles and works together to move their stalls off the tracks. While no trains came through during our time there, it was still by far one of the most interesting markets I’ve ever visited. Along with the Maeklong Railway Markets, we also visited the floating markets, went rooftop bar hopping and discovered the best Pad Thai in the city.

So sit back, watch the final episode of the series, peruse my photo diary and get inspired to visit vibrant Bangkok for yourself. To find out more about Topdeck trips in Asia or to book, visit topdeck.travel
