Tropical essentials: New Year’s Eve

This Island Life | Tropical essentials - New Year's Eve

Just a few essentials for New Year’s Eve at home in Sydney. This year we kept it low key – drinks and dinner at my place, and then champagne on my friends rooftop to watch the fireworks.

I’ve always wanted a drinks trolley, but I just don’t have the space in my apartment. This Indian etched drinks tray is the next best thing. Load it up with your favourite spirits, champagne and foliage, and you’re summer soiree ready.

Dear September ‘Indian Etched Tray’ and feathers (no longer available), vintage crystal champagne glasses (they were given to my grandparents as a wedding gift in the 1930s), glass elephant vase (picked up from a garage sale in Bondi Beach).
