I’m not a fan of closed-in shoes (or excessive amounts of clothing and pants), but after fucking up my pedicure one too many times trying to skate barefoot, I knew it was time. Luckily, my new perforated white leather kicks from French label Spring Court get some seriously good grip on my new Ámes Soul Deck and go with pretty much every shade of chambray.
Spring Court are a vintage label that started out in the 1930’s designing tennis shoes, so they’ve got that level of comfort that many street shoes are missing. I don’t want to hate on Converse because maybe it’s my feet and I got a few dodgy pairs, but I can’t wear them for more than a few hours and every pair I’ve had the leather has split away from the sole.
The guys at Spring Court source the best quality leathers and make shoes for not just comfort, but for durability too – hence them being my new skating shoe of choice.
Spring Court perforated white leather kicks, Ksubi Albuquerque cut offs in ‘hayday mayday’, ($4) vintage chambray shirt from the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, Delightfully Turkish scarf in ‘fresh candy grey’, Tiffany & Co necklace with a rainbow moonstone crystal, assortment of rings from all over the world, Moleskin pocket journal in ‘pebble grey’, Mulga the Artist ‘eggbert the most excellent eagle’ print.
